REMIND simulates emissions from aerosols and ozone precursors (SO2, BC, OC, NOx, CO, VOC). It accounts for these emissions with different levels of detail depending on the types and sources of emissions (see [[REMINDIMPORT/GHGs---REMIND_34379417#GHGs-REMIND-Table9|Table 9]]).

REMIND simulates emissions from aerosols and ozone precursors (SO2, BC, OC, NOx, CO, VOC). It accounts for these emissions with different levels of detail depending on the types and sources of emissions (see Table 9).

Calculation of SO2, BC, OC, NOx, CO, VOC and NH3 emissions from fuel combustion base on the model-endogenous activity data. The energy system provides information on the regional consumption of fossil fuels and biomass for each time step and technology. For each fuel, region and technology, REMIND applies an emission factor to the specific gas in order to calculate the emissions.

Other emissions are exogenous and are taken from the RCP scenarios (Vuuren et al. 2011).
